"A PATHWAY TO HEALING"
Susan Traurig is founder of "A Pathway to Healing" and is a Certified Addiction Counselor who specializes in counseling women with eating disorders, addictions and related issues. Susan has most recently been working at "Now and Forever" outpatient treatment facility in North Hills California. Her passion for helping others heal has been on going for the past 20 years. Her openness and transparency with others about her own life came out of her own personal struggles as an incest survivor with anorexia and bulimia. Susan has been married for 26 years to her husband Tim who she met at the age of 16 at the "Church on the Way" in Van Nuys California. Susan and Tim have three beautiful daughters. Early in their marriage, Susan's oldest daughter began to act out and disclose to them that the female babysitter who had been babysitting for about six months and who was a nursery care worker at a local church had been molesting her. The devastating news and the on going disclosures began to tap into Susan's own sexual abuse and sent her spiraling into a deep depression followed by several suicide attempts. Susan was hospitalized at Kaiser Mental Health Hospital for approximately three months. During this period in her life God began to reveal himself to her and her husband in miraculous ways. This period of time in her life was the beginning of "A Pathway to Healing" in dealing with her eating disorder and related issues. Susan's oldest and youngest daughters in their teenage years would begin to have their own problems with drugs and alcohol. Both experienced the devastating effects that drugs and alcohol have on a life and a family. Both daughters spent months in several rehabs throughout the country and have since found "A Pathway to Healing" in their own lives. As a mother and incest survivor Susan has had first hand experience in the devastation that an eating disorder, drugs, alcohol and sexual abuse have on a person and a family and what is required to bring them back to a place of wholeness and on to "A Pathway to Healing".
The toughest decision you will make will be your first step towards "A Pathway to Healing" and that step is reaching out for help, and not living alone with your Eating Disorder, Addiction or the traumatic events of your past. Allow me the opportunity to guide and support you through your Pathway to Healing and Wholeness. I've walked the path before. I know the fear, hurt, anger, sorrow and loneliness that is a part of those issues. Together we can make that journey. And you too can once again take back control of your own life and future. And truly find happiness and peace of mind. Let us travel together on "A Pathway to Healing".
